Walk in the way you would at the sea:
one gentle step at a time.

A beach entry pool slopes gradually from dry land into deeper water, so there are no steps to climb down and no ladder to grip. You simply walk in. At Naturi, that shoreline isn’t a ramp added onto a pool. It’s hand-sculpted in natural quartz and marble sand, so your pool looks and feels like a private lagoon.

What Is a Beach Entry Pool?

A beach entry pool (also called a zero entry, walk-in or sloped entry pool) has one edge that starts level with the deck and slopes gently down into the water, the way a natural beach meets the sea. Instead of stairs or a ladder, swimmers wade in gradually from ankle-deep to waist-deep and beyond.

The shallow shoreline quickly becomes everyone’s favorite part of the pool. Little ones splash where the water is only a few inches deep. Grandparents ease in without a handrail. Loungers set a chair right at the waterline and let the water come to them.

Beach Entry vs. Zero Entry: What’s the Difference?

The two terms are often used interchangeably, and both describe an entry that starts at “zero” depth. The difference is mostly in the look:

  • Zero entry usually describes the slope itself. It’s often a straight, uniform ramp finished in the same plaster, tile or fiberglass as the rest of the pool. You’ll see these at resorts and community pools.
  • Beach entry describes a shoreline that looks natural, with a wider, softer, organic edge that feels like a real beach

Every Naturi pool is designed with that second idea at its heart.

Why a Naturi Beach Entry Feels Different

Most pools add a beach entry on after the fact. A gunite pool gets a sloped section finished in plaster or pebble. A fiberglass pool comes out of a factory mold with the slope already fixed in place. Either way, the entry is still part of a pool, not a beach.

Naturi starts from the other direction. Every Naturi pool is built with the patented Sorgiva® system and finished by hand in quartz and marble aggregates that are naturally sourced from Italy. Because the surface is hand-troweled rather than molded, your Naturi Artisan can sculpt the shoreline into any shape your yard calls for:

  • A wide, sweeping beach that runs the length of the pool
  • A gentle curve tucked into a corner, framed by stone and plantings
  • Tanning ledges and lounging shallows at exactly the depth you like
  • A beach that flows into deep water, even a diving area, all in the same pool

There’s no blue rectangle and no harsh tile line at the water’s edge, just soft sand tones like Caraibi, Capri or Botticino meeting clear water.

Designing Your Beach Entry

Every Naturi pool is custom, so your beach entry is designed around your yard, your family and the way you want to use the water. The main choices include:

Width and shape. A beach entry can span a whole side of the pool or be a more intimate shoreline. Organic curves suit lagoon-style designs, while cleaner lines complement modern homes.

Slope. A gentler slope feels more like a real beach but uses more surface area. A slightly steeper one saves space. Your Artisan will help you find the balance for your yard.

Color and texture. Choose from 10 standard sand colors (Adige, Botticino, Capri, Caraibi, Corsica, Grigio, Grigio Bardiglio, Hawaii, Panama and Rosa Corallo) or create your own blend. Textures range from fine, silky sand to polished pebble.

What’s around it. Beach entries pair beautifully with natural rock, waterfalls, shade trees and lush planting that runs right up to the shoreline.

Comfort features. Add aerotherapy bubblers to a tanning ledge or bench for a spa-like touch in the shallows.

Clear Water Right Up to the Shoreline

In many traditional pools the shallow end of a beach entry can be hard to keep clean, because the water there doesn’t move much. The Sorgiva® system was designed differently. Filtered water rises gently up through the pool surface itself, across the whole pool floor, including the beach. With circulation reaching every part of the pool, algae is prevented before it starts, and you’ll see fewer visible jets in your view.

When the pool is heated, warm water enters from the floor and rises naturally, so the shallows where your family spends the most time stay comfortable.

Who Loves a Beach Entry Pool?

  • Families with young children. Kids can play in water just a few inches deep, right at the edge. (As with any pool, children should always be supervised.)
  • Anyone who finds pool steps difficult. A gradual walk-in is easier on knees and balance than a ladder.
  • People who love to lounge. Set a chair at the waterline, or lie back on a sun ledge with the water just covering your feet.
  • Entertainers. A beach entry gives guests a place to gather, chat and cool off without fully swimming.
  • Homeowners who want something truly original. A hand-sculpted Naturi shoreline is one of a kind. Your neighbors won’t be able to copy it.

Planning Your Budget

Every Naturi pool is custom, so there’s no one-size-fits-all price. The main things that shape the cost of a beach entry pool are:

  • Overall pool size and depth. A beach entry adds shallow surface area, and a wider or gentler slope adds more.
  • Site conditions. Access, soil, grading and drainage.
  • Features. Rock work, waterfalls, spas, tanning ledges and aerotherapy.
  • Finish selections. Standard colors or a custom blend.
  • Landscaping and hardscape around the shoreline.

Beach Entry Pool FAQs

What is a beach entry pool?

A beach entry pool has a gradual slope that starts at deck level and descends into deeper water, like a natural beach. Swimmers walk in instead of using steps or a ladder. It’s also called a zero entry, walk-in or sloped entry pool.

What is a beach entry pool called?

Beach entry pools go by several names: zero entry pool, zero-depth entry, walk-in pool, sloped entry and lagoon-style pool. They all describe the same idea, an entry that begins at zero depth and deepens gradually.

Do beach entry pools cost more?

Usually, yes. A beach entry adds shallow surface area to the pool, which means more material and labor than a pool of the same swimming area with steps. How much more depends on the size and slope of the entry, your site and the features you choose. Naturi pools are fully custom, so your Artisan prices each project individually.

How deep is a zero entry pool?

It starts at zero, level with the deck, and slopes down to whatever depth you choose. With the Sorgiva® system, a Naturi pool can go from a wading shoreline to deep water, even a diving area, in the same pool.

Are there drawbacks to a beach entry or zero entry pool?

The main trade-off is space. A gradual slope takes up more of the pool’s footprint, which can leave less room for deep swimming in a smaller yard. That’s why design matters: a Naturi beach entry can be sized and shaped to fit your space, and because Naturi pools can combine any depth in one pool, you don’t have to give up a deep swimming area to have a beach.

Can I add a beach entry to my existing pool?

Every project is different. Contact us with photos of your current pool and we’ll talk through what’s possible.

Can I have a beach entry pool in a small yard?

Yes. A beach entry doesn’t have to be wide. A compact curved shoreline in one corner can give you the walk-in experience without taking over the yard.

Is a beach entry pool safe for kids?

The shallow shoreline gives young children a comfortable place to play at the water’s edge. It is not a substitute for supervision: children should always be watched around any pool, and local safety barrier requirements still apply.

What is a Naturi beach entry made of?

The surface is hand-troweled quartz and marble aggregate, naturally sourced from Italy and bound with Naturi’s proprietary two-component resin. It’s sculpted on site by a Naturi Artisan, so the shoreline can take any shape.
