Everything you need to know about designing, building, and enjoying your natural sand pool

general questions

What exactly is a Naturi pool?

A Naturi pool is a beach-entry, sand-sculpted swimming pool that uses the patented Sorgiva system from Italy. Unlike traditional pools with plaster and tile, Naturi pools feature natural quartz sand and stone surfaces with water that circulates through the pool floor itself. The result is a pool that looks and feels like a natural lagoon while delivering superior water quality and easier maintenance.

How is a Naturi pool different from a traditional pool?

The differences are significant:

  • Materials: Natural quartz sand and stone instead of painted plaster, vinyl liner, or fiberglass
  • Circulation: Water flows through the entire pool surface rather than from wall jets
  • Appearance: Few visible jets, drains, or fittings—just natural beauty
  • Maintenance: patented water delivery system helps prevent algae growth by ensuring every square inch of surface has movement across and through it when paired with traditional pool filtration
  • Customization: Can be hand-sculpted to any shape, size, or depth
  • Feel: textured sand bonded with resin to create a smooth surface with greater tensile strength than concrete

Can I really build my pool to any size and depth?

Yes! Naturi materials can be shaped to accommodate virtually any configuration. You can have shallow beach entries, starting from zero of water level and gently sloping into deeper water. We can build intimate plunge pools or grand resort-style installations. The only limit is your property and imagination.

How long has this technology been around?

The Sorgiva system has been used in Europe for 2o years, with hundreds of successful installations. We brought this proven technology to the Western Hemisphere, adapting it for American conditions and building a network of certified installers to bring these incredible pools to homeowners across the country.

design & customization

Can I customize the color and texture?

Absolutely! Naturi pools are available in multiple colors—from bright Caribbean white to warm golden sand to Mediterranean tan hues. You will be choosing different grain sizes for texture, ranging from fine, silky sand to coarser pebble finishes. Your designer will show you samples and help you select the perfect combination for your vision.

What design features can I include?

The possibilities are nearly endless:

  • Beach entries with gradual slopes
  • Vertical walls for any depth
  • Custom ledges and benches
  • Sculptured seating areas
  • Swim-up bars and tables
  • Natural rock features and boulders
  • Waterfalls and cascades
  • Grottos and caves
  • Integrated spas and hot tubs
  • Islands and stepping stones
  • Custom steps and entry points
  • Hydrotherapy jets placed anywhere

Do I need a beach entry, or can I have a traditional deep pool?

You can have either—or both! While Naturi pools are famous for beach entries, the technology works equally well for traditional deep pools, lap pools, or any configuration you prefer. Many clients combine beach entry areas with deeper swimming and diving zones in the same pool.

How do I choose the right design for my property?

Our certified installers provide design consultation as part of the process. They’ll assess your property, discuss your lifestyle and preferences, consider your budget, and create a custom design that maximizes your space and deliver the features most important to you.

installation & timeline

How long does it take to build a Naturi pool?

Timeline varies based on pool size, complexity, and local conditions, but most installations take 10 to 20 days from excavation to completion. Larger or more complex projects may take longer. Your certified installer will provide a detailed timeline during the planning phase.

Who installs Naturi pools?

Only certified Naturi installers who have completed our comprehensive training program. This ensures your pool is built correctly using proper techniques and materials. Our installer network spans the Western Hemisphere—And if there isn’t a certified installer in your area? We have a traveling installation team who can come to you.

Do you have installers in my area?

Our certified installer network continues to grow across the United States. Contact us with your location and we’ll connect you with installers serving your area, or let you know when coverage will be available in your region.

Can you work around my landscaping?

Yes! Experienced Naturi installers work carefully to preserve existing landscaping when possible. Part of the design process involves planning access routes and protecting trees, gardens, and other features you want to keep.

What’s the installation process like?

The typical process includes:

  • Design consultation – Discuss your vision and develop custom plans
  • Excavation – Dig and prepare the site
  • Structural work – Install waterproofing, plumbing, and structural layers
  • Sorgiva system – Integrate the patented circulation network
  • Hand sculpting – Apply and shape the natural sand finish
  • Equipment installation – Set up filtration, heating, and controls
  • Water filling & startup – Fill, balance chemistry, and start swimming!
  • Final walkthrough – Your installer trains you on maintenance and operation

maintenance & care

What maintenance does a Naturi pool require?

Regular maintenance includes:

  • Every 2 years a  finish resin spray to be applied
  • Skimming surface debris
  • Cleaning filters (frequency depends on use)
  • Testing and balancing water chemistry
  • Adding sanitizer as needed
  • Seasonal opening/closing (in climates that require it)

Your installer will provide detailed maintenance instructions and can recommend service providers if you prefer professional maintenance.

What chemicals do I need to use?

Naturi pools use standard pool chemicals — including chlorine (via tablets, liquid, or salt system), ozone, UV and ionization systems for sanitization.

Can I use a salt system instead of chlorine?

You can use a salt system! A salt system actually generates chlorine, so you will still be swimming in chlorinated water, but it can be a great option for continued chlorine generation, and we recommend speaking to your installer or service company about the best sanitization system for your family.

How often does the sand need to be replaced?

The sand finish is a permanent part of your pool structure—it doesn’t need to be replaced. Unlike beach sand that shifts and washes away, Naturi’s quartz aggregates are bound with high-performance resin and become part of the pool shell. With proper care, your pool surface will last for decades.

What if I get a stain or damage?

Minor surface issues can typically be addressed with spot repairs. Stains are rare due to the materials used, but if they occur, they can often be treated chemically or mechanically. For any concerns, contact your installer or our support team—we’re here to help.

cost & investment

How much does a Naturi pool cost?

Cost varies significantly based on size, complexity, features, and location. Naturi pools are premium products with pricing that reflects superior materials and technology. As a general range, most residential projects fall between $80,000 and $300,000+. Your certified installer will provide detailed quotes based on your specific design.

Do you offer financing?

Financing availability varies by installer and region. Many of our certified installers work with pool financing companies and can help you explore payment options. Ask your installer about financing during your consultation.

Will a Naturi pool increase my home’s value?

Premium pools typically add significant value to properties, especially unique, high-quality installations. The exact value increase depends on your market, but custom pools with superior aesthetics and technology are highly attractive to buyers. Many appraisers and real estate professionals specifically note the premium features of Naturi installations. Ultimately, a Naturi pool is an investment in your family.

Why are Naturi pools so expensive?

Several factors contribute to the investment:

  • Premium materials – Two-component resin systems and natural aggregates cost more than standard plaster
  • Patented technology – The Sorgiva circulation system is exclusive and sophisticated
  • Skilled installation – Certified installers with specialized training
  • Custom design – Every pool is hand-sculpted and unique
  • Superior performance – Lower maintenance costs and longer lifespan
  • Lasting value – Durability and aesthetics that endure for decades

Many owners find that reduced maintenance costs and increased property value make Naturi pools an excellent long-term investment.

technical questions

How does the circulation system actually work?

Filtered water from your pool equipment is distributed through pipes beneath the pool’s permeable sand surface. The water emerges gently through tiny interstices in the quartz layers, flowing evenly across the entire floor and beach areas. This creates natural circulation without visible jets, while continuously sanitizing the structural layers to prevent algae and bacteria growth.

What about cold climates? Will the pool crack?

Naturi pools are engineered for all climates, including areas with freeze-thaw cycles. Proper winterization (just like any pool) protects against cold weather damage. Our installations span from Florida to northern states with harsh winters—all performing beautifully when properly maintained.

Can I have heating and jets?

Absolutely! Naturi pools work excellently with:

  • Heaters – Gas, electric, heat pumps, or solar. Heated water enters from the floor and rises naturally for more efficient warming
  • Hydrotherapy jets – Can be placed anywhere in your pool design, not just where traditional plumbing dictates
  • Spa integration – High-temperature spas and hot tubs are no problem with our heat-resistant materials
  • Waterfalls and features – All standard pool features are compatible

What kind of warranty comes with a Naturi pool?

Naturi is covered by a 10 year warranty, your installer will provide you with details during the contracting process.

Does the pool work with existing equipment?

Naturi pools are compatible with standard pool equipment—pumps, filters, heaters, sanitizers, and automation systems. Your installer will recommend appropriately sized equipment for your specific pool design.

safety & health

Are Naturi pools safe for children?

Yes! In fact, the beach entry design is particularly popular with families because:

  • Children can wade safely in shallow areas
  • Parents can supervise easily from lounging areas
  • No sudden drop-offs like traditional pools

Of course, standard pool safety practices still apply—supervision, fencing, and safety equipment are essential.

Is the sand surface slippery?

No more than traditional pool surfaces, and many find it less slippery than tile. The natural texture of the quartz aggregates provides good traction. Like any pool, surfaces can be more slippery when wet, so normal caution is advised.

Are the materials safe for sensitive skin?

Yes! Natural materials are generally gentler on skin than treated plaster. Combined with lower chemical usage due to superior circulation, many people with skin sensitivities find Naturi pools more comfortable than traditional pools.

Can I add safety features like handrails and lights?

Absolutely. All standard pool safety features can and should be incorporated:

  • LED lighting for nighttime visibility and ambiance
  • Handrails at entry points
  • Safety fencing and gates
  • Automatic pool covers or ASTM certified camera systems
  • Alarms and sensors

Discuss safety priorities with your installer during design.

lifestyle & enjoyment

Can I have a pool and spa together?

Yes! Integrated spas are one of the most popular Naturi features. The spa can be designed as a seamless part of your pool or as a separate elevated feature with spillover. High-temperature performance means your spa maintains heat perfectly while looking naturally integrated with the pool.

What about water features like waterfalls?

Waterfalls, cascades, streams, and fountains can all be incorporated into Naturi pools. Many installations include dramatic rock features with flowing water, creating a true resort atmosphere.

Can I add a swim-up bar or outdoor kitchen?

Definitely! Swim-up bars, tables, seating areas, and integration with outdoor kitchens are popular features. Your designer can help you create the perfect entertainment space.

Do these pools work for lap swimming?

Yes! While Naturi pools are famous for their natural aesthetics, they work perfectly for lap swimming. Many clients incorporate dedicated lap lanes into their designs. You can even have a beach entry on one end and a traditional deep wall on the other for flip turns.
